Dyscalculia Courses
Educators play a crucial role in identifying learning difficulties early on. By understanding dyscalculia, teachers can recognize signs and symptoms in students, allowing for timely intervention and support. Knowledge of dyscalculia enables teachers to tailor their teaching methods to accommodate students with this specific learning difficulty. By using differentiated instruction techniques, educators can provide alternative approaches and resources to help students grasp mathematical concepts.
We have designed the content so students will have the option to follow either Level 3, which are accedited by OCN 4 Learning , Level 5 and Level 7 full programmes. which are accredited by OCN 4 Learning and the British Dyslexia Association (BDA).
The Level 3 comprises completing 2 modules and students will have 6 months to complete the course.
The Level 5 comprises completing 3 modules and students will have 1 year to complete the course. This Level 5 certificate holds BDA Approved Teacher Dyscalculia/Approved Practitioner Dyscalculia (BDA ATD/APD) accreditation. This means that candidates who have successfully passed the Level 5 certificate can apply to the BDA for ATD or APD status and professional membership.
The Level 7 full course comprises 4 modules and students will have 2 years to complete this course. This Level 7 holds the BDA Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA Dyscalculia), and this indicates a high standard of professional competence in both diagnostic assessment and teaching. This means that candidates who have successfully passed the Level 7 course can apply to the BDA for (AMBDA dyscalculia ), and professional membership.
The Level 7 top-up Aquired Prior Learning (APL) route is for people who already have a Level 5 qualification in Dyscalculia and have Accredited Teacher/Practitioner Dyscalculia (ATD/APD) and will exempt students from Module 1.
